| Wow ok so I really stink @ keeping up with this page. There are so many other things now with myspace & facebook...I kinda forget about this page. But for those of you who are not on the later I will try to update you quickly on my life since my last post in August of 2007... I met my prince charming, he is from England. He came to visit me in Louisiana in September. I went to England for Christmas & met his family, he came to California in February to meet mine. We know we want to be together & are now in the throws of compiling all the necessary information necessary for obtaining a visa. Spending months apart from one another is very hard. But I have a great family & a wonderful friend base who try to keep me busy & not sulking..hahah And so that you all know it is "true love" I have completed shopping therapy & am recovering well from not being able to shop ALL THE TIME... ahah I am working for a medical group & really like it. I totally forget about this xanga site at times,oops! Well here is a little up date on Crissy's world!!
One year ago on 7/31/06 I moved to Louisiana. And boy what a year it has been. Alot can happen in a year...
For those who thought I couldn't make it .. HA I DID IT!!! (I will be nice & reframe from using unkind words but you can read between the lines) :)

It has definately been an adventure.. fun and not so fun!
Lets recap shall we:
The first few months in the South took some major getting used to. I am used to hot but not hot and wet!!! One might have thought they had peed all over themselves but no, thats just the sweat rolling down your legs.. (ewww gross!!!)
Got locked out of a job site so they sent the "little one" up a ladder to the 2nd floor to crawl in thru a small kitchen window.. now that was a site!! (and the fact that down here im considered "little")
I went from working a desk job to continuing to gut houses after Katrina & work in a coffee shop. Which I still have the coffee shop job, I LOVE IT (ok most days I love it..hahah) And I like my co-workers! Bit of a culture shock not having to dress up and do full make up everyday. And now I am working full time for a business that breeds & trains thoroughbred race horses (go figure) And NO I havent traded in my cute strappy shoes & AF jeans on wranglers & boots.. .. hahah Im the best dressed country girl EVER (yup I get mocked and laughed at some days.. but its just because they are jealous) :)
I begged God for friends and he gave me some great ones. Jacob - ahh my co-worker (til he ditched me) I love it when you cook for me. Lisa - Thanks to Jacob I met you and I love you to pieces. I cant imagine not knowing you! Monica - my pjs pal! Im so glad you moved back from BR!!!! Heres to lots o fun! Then there is BFF Blaine - gotta love this girl.. She is my "fruity beverage" friend!! hahah JP - welcome back buddy! I have missed having my sarcastic friend...
I had some nice and not so nice dating experiences... (you also know who you are - I will be nice and not name names... but you too can read between the lines)
Lets see what else - I got to go to NYC last Sept which was great fun! Got to see my Bem family and do some FANTASTIC shopping.
October - different kind of birthday! We got VIP suite tickets on the 50 yard line for a Saints game. I like it when someone keeps coming by asking if I "need" anything else to drink.. This makes me like football much more.. hahah
November - I prepared my very first Thanksgiving meal. Ok i didnt do the turkey (didnt want anyone getting sick) but I did EVERYTHING else. And guess what??? No one got sick and it turned out beautifully.
December/January - got to go home for Christmas. It was wonderful to spend time with friends and family. Then it was off to South Africa... So much fun!!
February - My good friends got married... AHHHH... And then it was Mardis Gras.. Lets just say my first Mardis Gras experience was something I dont want to repeat. If you want the whole story - yah let me know! Its funny but not funny, but because of this experience i have picked up a few new nicknames: little one & JB... I had some pretty hard hits in February/March - Physically, Mental & Emotionally but thanks to some amazing friends I made it thru... so THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU
March - I bought the most amazing car EVER! I love her love her love her. Lets see if i still remeber how to put pictures in this thing...
April - guess that month was pretty uneventful
May - The month that has changed my life. After yet another dating disaster. A good friend decided it was time that I met her brother in law. So she gave him my number and well here we are 3 months later. He is an amazing man!! Our biggest problem - HE LIVES IN ENGLAND.. But he is coming to visit me in 13 days (not that we are counting) I will do my best to get some pictures posted ASAP of our holiday!!!
June - I got to go back up to KC and spend one last girl weekend with JOY!! I love that girl. And a girl weekend is not complete without getting some ink. I got what i think is to be my last tatt.. (check it out) And now she is off in Italy for 3 years.. I am so jealous...
Which brings us to date... there are lots of other things that have happened to me, like accidentally powerwashing my foot (and makes it look like i got malled by an animal). It has been decided that I really shouldnt work outside - every time i do i get hurt or have horrible allergic reactions. Its not pretty! I rode a horse for the first time in about 15 years and in a couple of weeks we are buying a riding horse (Shianne and I have our own instructor - hes a cutie), i co-own a thoroughbred mare and a 2 year old in training who is named after yours truly (hopefully she will win mamma some $$$$)
I just wonder what this next year will bring. I am pretty sure i will be staying put here in the good ol South for a while. Dont see me moving back to Cali... (Sorry J) Predictions are out and if all is correct my next year in review could be written from England... (gasp!!)

| Only 47 more days until Christmas... well 48 until Christmas but 47 until I fly back to Cali. I love Christmas!!!! I was scared I was going to be spending my first Christmas away from my family but it all worked out and I get to spend 2 weeks with family/friends prior to spending 2 1/2 weeks in South Africa... I cant wait!!! OK I'm done... (for now) hahah | | |
| Well I have hit the 3 month mark of Southern Livin' and so far so good!! haha
Its hard to believe the year is almost over! I just bought my ticket so that I can be back in Cali with my family for Christmas and I am very excited. I will get to spend 2 weeks visiting with friends and family before I leave with our next team going to South Africa. I cant wait to get back and see all my little friends that I made last summer. I especially cant wait to check in on my favorite little girl Angel (aka Peanut)
So since coming here I have been engrafted in as an honorary SouthEastern Louisiana University fan!
We have gotten to go to a few games.

So I spent my first birthday in da South! Saturday night we went to a Southeastern College football game in which they won in overtime. And then Sunday was the Saints game. We were given suite tickets on the 50 yard line... yah baby!! It was so much fun. You never have to get out of your seat, they bring you EVERYTHING you want. (A girl could get used to that) Oh... and it was a good game too!! They won! They beat the Eagles 27-24 (thats for you JP... hahahha)
All in all it was a good weekend. I did stuff I would not have done if I was in Cali.
Monday was my actual birthday and it was kinda a sad day. I really missed all of my friends and family...:(
But here is to a new year of life... seeing what is out there and what this new year brings my way!!! | | |
